Hi all
I have set this tread going to discuss the advantages of the different versions of iu1.2Beta mod and point release. Seems the rail24 FFA is becoming one of the most popular servers run by our clan members.
Hi My self i prefer the point release and mod being used on the hottub, i always find the 1.31 point release not as good and earlier insta unlagged mods to feel laggy.
Not to sure why the Hottub is not being used as much as the other servers, perhaps location as well as point release. There are still Q3 switchers available to change point release so may be some players do not know about these.

Hello guys, I like the 1.30 also, but I must be honest I play both 1.30, 1.32, and Q-Live. I am pleased that we use 1.30 on the HotTub, because PB sux with the lag during the first 60 seconds or so. Is it the net-code that makes 1.30 so much better? A realy respected player told me at one time that the osp mod had best net-code. Of course I cannot tell exactly the differences. I am up for some education if anyone could enlighten me Thnx!
Well, I must admit I always liked IU1.2Beta3 on 1.30 used to spend most of my days playing CTF on there and is definitely the best combo however 1.30 is dead as a dodo now.
The only reason I run RAIL24 on 1.31 is because of the amount of players it gets don't ask me why it's so popular....I have no idea. I would love to use IU1.2Beta instead of IU1.1 but when I've tried this before the servers become empty 24/7 I'm guessing because you need to download the pak0.pk3 to connect and new/lesser informed players don't know this.
So I just stick with what's popular. Although I would like to try 1.2beta again at some point.

I have switched the hottub over to iu1.2beta 2 pr 1.31 see if it helpd get some players in. I am keeping it in the Netherlands kinda like the server there.

I am going to use the iu1.2 mod but running the cfg through excessiveplus. Itching to attract people back and we have lost a few regulars to excessive whilst things are quiet with the hottub as it is now I will try this out for a few months see what happens.

In my opinion selfknockback on Nastyservers witch using mod iu1.2beta3 is too strong.I remember that few months ago knockback was lower so I could do my railjumps or map movement with eye's closed :)Im feeling big difference.

That might have something to with trying to entice players onto the iu1,2Beta3 it worked players seem to like the settings. What you need is a return to the original hottub server we used to play on that can be arranged once i get the ctf settings sorted out I might put it back online.

If you can come up with a map rotation for the hottub V I will set it up. Ths space ctf is only test server and its running on the main port of 27960 which is the hottubs port. So if you want lets get the hottub back online with the original settings and a decent map rotation.

Ok.It's good idea to back original settings for few day's let's see how it goes. Your'e right iu1.2beta3 servers seems to be more popular but im not sure what is main reason.If it's all about selfknockback of course u shouldn't change it.Maybe its only my feelings and I have get used to it.
I agree with v23 the knockback feels like its set to 150-165 when old servers we used to play on had it set to 100. I don't mind too much but personally I would love to have it at 100 so the old school through the window rail jumps on q3ctf1 would work.
But I guess the servers are popular the way they are so if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I also agree with our friend v23 but I have tried the hottub config countless times and its dead. The thing I am working towards is catering for the majority and not what 1 or 2 of us like, myself included I prefer the original config since I dont rail myself of a ledge or blast myself into oblivion
What I am working with is the needs of the majority and if a map like dm17 is popular then I use it in the servers. I dont set servers for personal use as they would just be me playing it. If I could choose a personal server setting it would be mod: corkscrew with hottub map rotation playing valkarie settings headhunter. Me and Freight used to play that capturing the head on corkscrew but I would be playing solely against bots. Since nobody can be arsed to download the 2mb mod. lol I seem to be in a bit of a windging mood just ignore me.
I agree with what u said in that if it works then don't fix it. Only issue I have is fixing the right rotation but I will get there eventually. As long as people play it I will work on what they want.
If u and v fancy a night on the old settings just let me know and I will boot the test server up with the old rotation and settings including kickback.
Just a point, if u fancy doing me a favour could u test the nastyclan.cfg I have made for excessive. It runs well I like it but I think it needs a bit of tweaking. Maybe u and flippy could test it out. If u fancy doing that let me know and I will pm u a copy of the Nastyclan iu1.2beta3.cfg
Yea, don't change what is working. Maybe a separate Q3CTF1 only server with old settings would be cool, spent 4 years of my life playing on that map lol good times.
Sure send the config my way and will give it a go.
