Ok start by downloading a free program called any video converter. You can get link in Google or at www.downloads.com then install windows live essentials movie maker. I use fraps as the main recording software. Once the fraps has finished recording avi file I convert it to custom avi in any video converter. So my latest video today was 4.5gig in size with fraps. Any video converter converts the avi to 130mb high quality avi. I then open this converted file in movie maker and add any titles captions or whatever u want. Then save file for computer. The new file is ready. Now the file is ready to upload to YouTube.

If you need any help with the video editing , croping and using different sections let me know. But its straight forward really with the movie maker once u have the converted file. Dont try to edit the fraps file without converting first.
